Approach by car

To get to Poland Market Hohenwutzen by car, simply follow the B 158 federal road in the direction of Bad Freienwalde to Hohenwutzen. The border crossing and Chojna as the next bigger place in Poland are signposted. Only 100m after the Oder bridge you will find the Poland Market Hohenwutzen on the left side.

Parking

There are more than 800 free and lighted parking spaces on the premises of Poland Market Hohenwutzen. The parking spaces are signposted on site and on our Market plan drawn in.

Border crossing/Oder bridge

Poland is a member of the Schengen Agreement. Therefore, since 21.12.2007 there are no more border controls. You do not need a "green insurance card" for your vehicle.

The crossing of the border crossing Hohenwutzen is allowed for vehicles with a permissible total weight of 7.5 tons. This also gives tradesmen with their small trucks the opportunity to refuel inexpensively with us. The crossing for buses is allowed without restrictions.

Please note that in Poland the dipped headlights or daytime running lights must be switched on all year round.

Refueling/charging station

At Poland Market Hohenwutzen you will find several gas stations as well as charging facilities for e-cars. You can find more information about this under Refuel.

Arrival by shuttle bus

A shuttle bus runs three times a day between Berlin and Poland Market Hohenwutzen.

You can freely choose the time of departure and the place of disembarkation on the return trip. For example, if you choose the 1st outbound trip at 9:00/9:15/9:38, you can choose the return trip at 10:45, 14:00 or 17:15.

Streetcar stop Allee der Kosmonauten/Rhinstraße

You can reach the streetcar station Allee der Kosmonauten/Rhinstraße via TRAM lines 27, 37, M 17 and M8, the nearest S-Bahn station is Springpfuhl, the nearest U-Bahn station is Lichtenberg. The bus stop with a waiting house is located directly next to the streetcar station Allee der Kosmonauten/Rhinstraße on the parking lot in front of a large office building at Allee der Kosmonauten 26, 12621 Berlin.

Stop S-Bahnhof Ahrensfelde (S7)

The bus stop is located directly on the Märkische Allee/B158 on the side of the road heading out of town. Coming from the S-Bahn station Ahrensfelde, cross the street and walk below the pedestrian bridge for about 30m in the direction of Marzahn.

Stop Werneuchen, Ambulatorium

The bus stop with waiting house is located directly on Freienwalder Straße/B158 on the side of the road towards Bad Freienwalde.

Stop Poland Market Hohenwutzen

The bus stop, where you get off and on, is signposted accordingly and is located directly on the Polenmarkt Hohenwutzen, not far from the blue gas station. (see Market plan)

Fare

The fare is 5,- € per person per one-way trip, therefore 10,- € per person for the round trip together. Included here are vouchers with a total value of 10,- €, which you can redeem at various market stalls and restaurants. No one-way tickets can be purchased, therefore always only one ticket for 2 trips (round trip or also 2 round trips) for a total of 10,- €. For children up to and including 14 years, the trip is free when accompanied by an adult.

Please buy your ticket for the outward and return journey directly from your bus driver when boarding. Payment is possible in cash or by EC/credit card (incl. Apple/G-Pay).

Travel time

Travel time for one way is about 40min from Werneuchen, Ambulatorium, 1h from S-Bahn station Ahrensfelde and 1h 15min from streetcar station Allee der Kosmonauten/Rhinstraße.

Bus

The journey is made by a Scania coach for 71 passengers with air conditioning, toilet, free Wi-Fi, Entertainmet system, reclining seats and many other amenities and additional safety systems of a modern coach.

At times of particular demand (for example, Saturday 1st trip) or during maintenance / repair, other coaches drive. There is no guarantee of a seat or a ride (except for severely disabled persons after registration and for the return trip from Poland Market Hohenwutzen). There is no possibility of reservation. Please be punctual at the departure point.

Missed the last bus...?

We recommend approaching other visitors at the gas station. As a rule, someone will be happy to give you a ride in your direction.

Alternatively, there is public transport, with an hourly regional train from Bad Freienwalde to Berlin (via Eberswalde). More information under Access by public transport.

Arrival by public transport

Departure Berlin Central Station

The journey to the Poland Market Hohenwutzen is also possible by public transport from Berlin. The RE3 leaves every hour every day from Berlin Hauptbahnhof, in Eberswalde you change to the RB60 to Bad Freienwalde. From Bad Freienwalde, the RB60 returns to Berlin via Eberswalde every hour, the last departure is at 22:18.

Between Bad Freienwalde (train station) and Hohenwutzen (village) Bus 873 runs several times a day (Mon-Sat, not on Sundays or holidays). The trip takes about 20 minutes. From the bus stop Hohenwutzen (village) it is about 8 minutes walk to Poland Market Hohenwutzen.

Approach by bike

To visit the Poland Market Hohenwutzen by bike, follow the regional bike route Historic Town Centers - Route 1 from the S-Bahn station Berlin Hoppegarten via Strausberg, Wriezen and Bad Freienwalde directly to Hohenwutzen, the distance is about 75km. Coming from the northwest, the approach is also possible via this bike route, for example from Templin or Angermünde.

Alternatively, we recommend the route from Berlin center suggested here by komoot, which is somewhat shorter:

Directly through Hohenwutzen runs the approximately 630km long Oder-Neisse cycle path (D12), which stretches from the Czech Republic always river and border to the Baltic Sea.

IMPORTANT!

The temporary internal border controls at the land borders with the Republic of Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, which were ordered in mid-October, will be continued in order to combat smuggling crime even more effectively and limit irregular migration.

On the basis of Article 25 of the Schengen Borders Code, temporary controls will continue until March 15, 2024.
